Request to Homeowners' Associations

In order to increase the Oxford Township's ability to communicate with its citizens, the Township plans to create a listing of Homeowners' Associations. This list would enable the Township to contact your association when the Township is addressing a topic that may be of specific interest to you and your members.

The Township often receives informational brochures and flyers on various topics that may be very useful to you. By having a means to contact your group, the Township would be able to provide these materials for distribution to your homeowners. Or even perhaps arrange for a small workshop on topics that may interest your residents.

Please help Oxford Township by providing the name of your homeowners' association and a list of its representatives including their addresses and telephone numbers to Rebecca at 248/628-9787, ext. 100 or rrendon@oxfordtownship.org.

Oxford Emergency Information Hotline

248/628-9911

In order to provide information to you during times of emergency, Oxford Township and Oxford Village established the Oxford Emergency Information Hotline (248/628-9911). The purpose of this hotline is to provide INFORMATION ONLY during emergency events. For example, if Oxford were to be impacted by another ice storm similar to the one it experienced last winter, a call to the hotline number would provide a prerecorded message to the caller. This message may include information about emergency conditions, instructions telling people what to do or what not to do, estimates of how long the situation’s going to last, and any other helpful information that may be available.

REMEMBER for information regarding local emergencies, dial 248/628-9911.

Dog Licenses
Dog licenses are available at the township front office counter. Licenses are $7.50 for spayed/neutered and $15.00 for non-sprayed/neutered animals. The senior citizen charge (62 or older) is $6.50 for a spayed/neutered dog and $13.50 for non-spayed/neutered dogs. A veterinary certificate of spaying/neutering must be presented to obtain the lower rate. Proof of rabies must also be provided for all dogs four months and older. Checks payable to Charter Township of Oxford and cash are acceptable.

Tornado Warning System
Testing of the outdoor tornado warning system is scheduled for the 1st Saturday of each month, March through November at 1:00 p.m. (Note: No tests are scheduled from December through February)

Smoke Detectors
You have undoubtedly heard of the life-taking fires happening in the Metro area. Please remember to double check your smoke alarms. Most smoke alarms have a test button to press to activate them for a short period of time. But more importantly change the battery. The cost of a new battery is not as expensive as a life. Even if the battery is not completely used, there may be a non-life threatening appliance or radio that may use the partially used battery. Oxford Fire Chief Jack LeRoy recommends that you replace your detector's battery twice annually, when you change your clocks.
